In light of the recent Google Chrome Vulnerability, we have made sure that our installations of Chrome are up-to-date. In doing software inventory, we found that some PCs have gotten to state of displaying under Help - About Google Chrome that updates are disabled by the administrator. We are unsure when this actually started but it's preventing auto updates which we would like to have enabled. I can say that it wasn't always this way and later last year it was working on auto updating. We do have a software management solution that does have the package to update Chrome, but with staged updates across the network it could go sometime without getting updated fully across the whole infrastructure.There hasn't been any AD GPO changes made and each user is set to standard not administrator. There hasn't been any software packages that are evident that would disrupt this process. We do patch Windows and wondered if there might have been an update there that might would have caused this.

This isn't happening on all PCs that have the same settings. I have found a registry key that can be modified to re-enable the auto updates, but still unsure how that would have gotten changed since users can't make changes to this key without admin privileges.I am curious whether anyone else has seen this issue or has any thoughts on it?
